O Palheiro and Palheiro da Assomada are located in the village of Fajã Grande on the west coast of Flores.

Fajã Grande is 21km (25 minute drive) from Flores Airport and 19km (20 minute drive) from the ferry port at Lajes.  The taxi fare from the airport/ferry port is about 15-20€. (Let us know if you want us to arrange a taxi to meet you at the airport.)

There are buses on the island but these are timetabled as schoolbuses with one or two extra services and do not connect with flights or ferries.

Portuguese national airline TAP Portugal, Azorean airline SATA and Ryanair have several flights a day from Lisbon and Porto to the Azorean islands of Sao Miguel (Ponta Delgada), Terceira and Faial (Horta). From these entry points, SATA flies daily to Flores. Note that a flight to Flores from Ponta Delgada, Terceira or Horta is FREE if undertaken within 24 hours of arrival in the Azores from Lisbon, Porto or Madeira.

Ferry company Atlanticoline has very infrequent (only about 4 or 5 a year) sailings to Flores from the other islands in the Azores. There are more frequent sailings to the neighbouring island of Corvo.
